Tower Construction at KOAC - TV
Corvallis, Oregon
Page 4

Prime contractor, LeBlanc Broadcast Corp.

Finally the day came to put up the tower structure.  A tall crane was used to install
the tower.  This is the 100' first assembly.

The entire tower rests on a single small pivot point on the concrete base.

The first 100' are now in place.  The support guy wires are tensioned, as the
tower is adjusted to be exactly plumb.  The crane is released, and will be set
up to lift the next two sections.

The next section is carefully guided into place.

The final top section is lifted into place and secured.

This is the finished 175' tower.  The small platform near the top
is a rest platform, as the climbing ladder transitions from inside the tower to outside.
Next step will be attaching the coaxial transmission lines,
and the lifting of the new KOAC VHF & UHF TV antennas.
Weather conditions, and the availability of a taller, stronger crane,
will dictate when that will take place.
