The new Skyline Transmitter building is
nearly complete.
The green exterior color was chosen to
help the structure blend in with
the surrounding vegetation from a distance.
The final connections are made at the
base of the tower to allow the transmitters
to feed the antennas. Meanwhile,
the new Thomcast, (Comark) Digital Television
transmitter for KOPB-DT arrives.
After the transmitter cabinets are placed,
the installation begins.
OPB Engineer John Frazee attaches mounting
clamps for the waveguide filter,
and switcher assembly, which is suspended
from the ceiling.
KOAC, Chief Engineer, Roger Domingues,
Comark installation Supervisor, Kevin Drews,
and assistant, Dan Helm, finish the installation.
KOPB Chief Engineer, Gary Link, points
proudly to the output meter, which now
reads 100%, indicating that finally, the
"full power" Channel 27 transmitter is on the air!
